Sewing Machinist

We are seeking an experienced Sewing Machinist to join our small, friendly sewing team for an immediate start at our busy Loganholme furniture manufacturing workshop. We manufacture quality sofas and armchairs for a range of industries across Australia.

This role is currently offered as Casual Part Time but could lead to full time for the right person and based in Loganholme QLD.

Responsibilities:

• Sewing fabric for furniture upholstery including sofas, armchairs, cushions, recliners, etc.
• Following patterns to accurately cut fabric for furniture upholstery.
• Quality checking: Ensuring the completed order meets quality standards.
• Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Strive to achieve and exceed established KPIs.

Requirements:

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure.
• Experience in all aspects of the sewing process, having working with various types of fabrics.
• Ability in fabric cutting and pattern making would be advantageous.
• Be able to work in upholstery shop environment.
• Punctual and positive attitude.
• Good hand eye coordination and good communication skills.
• Autonomous and self-motivated.
• Australian residency.
• Current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment.
• Have a reasonable command of the English language.

• Monday - Friday (no weekend work).
